Summer Reading List

Summer is coming to a close, so it’s almost too late to start a reading list, but I keep acquiring books that I’m dying to read. I know if I don’t read them during the rest of the summer I won’t read them at all. It’s hard for me to find to read between working, important tasks for my internship, along with trying to do things with my family. I’m actively trying to make more time to read my way through my list of books.

My Top Six Favorite Books

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This novel is a classic American piece of literature that has seriously changed my life. I enjoy Gatsby’s character, with all of his faults and his fatal flaw of love for Daisy. The imagery used by Fitzgerald as well as the incredible themes used within the novel make this my all time favorite book.

 
6514The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

Everything written by Plath takes me to a place of complete vulnerability. This book was no exception. I relate to the struggles that Plath wrote about and the words resonated with me to my core. My favorite quote from that novel would have to be ““I took a deep breath and listened to the old brag of my heart. I am, I am, I am.”
