What is Poetic Intent?

Are you a college aged woman working hard to make build up your resume, make conections, and eventually land the job of your dreams? If you like fashion, beauty, and having a sneak peek into the lives of others you’ll feel right at home here. Poetic Intent is a collective space for my writing. I post product reviews, little snippets of my life, and the occasional creative writing piece. I post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Once a week, I post a poem as part of my new series called “Make You Snap: Poetry Series”. I am currently in the process of expanding this site which is a long term project.

I hope to inspire other young women as well as aspiring writers who are working fiercely towards their dreams however high they may be.

Who’s behind Poetic Intent?

I’m Monica Flickinger, the founder of Poetic Intent. I started this blog so that there was a collective space for my writing. I want to showcase what I’ve done in years past as well as anything I write in the future. Writing is part of who I am and I’ve always dreamed of sharing that part of myself with something larger than me.

I blog about my life: my clothing choices, beauty products I use and review, home decor, and moments from my life. I am a self-proclaimed poet. I can often be found taking pictures, reading almost any book I can get my hands on, and sipping on a hot drink. Someday I hope to have a collection of my poetry published as well as publishing a young adult novel. I’m a college sophomore studying English with a concentration in creative writing at a school near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Next semester I will be adding a concentration in journalism. I am learning as I go and I am growing with this site as it expands.
