I am lucky enough to have the best little sister in the world!
Yesterday we celebrated her birthday by going out all around doing whatever her heart desired! We all (my mom, sister, and I) had so much fun and it really was just the best day. She was so happy and she enjoyed the day so much and it makes me so happy to see her happy. We started the day with lunch in the city!
We ate at a restaurant by the River and although we couldn’t get a window seat, the service was poor, and we sat around waiting forever, the view was beautiful. We did enjoy ourselves and the food was pretty good, but the lack of quality service was pretty annoying. As I told my family, I am very compelled to leave a negative review of the restaurant on google reviews…and yelp.
After our very long lunch along the river, we headed to Barnes and Noble to shop for beach books for our upcoming trip. I had looked through most of the YA novels the last time I was there (about a week or so ago) and I hadn’t found anything that peaked my interest. The last time I was there I had wanted to get something new to read, but felt drawn to books I had previously read or had seen the movie adaption for. I ended up getting two new books then, but my whole point is that this time I had the same struggle. Luckily, my mom pointed out the book Never, which is coming out soon in theaters. My sister and I had seen the preview and both said that it seemed incredible! I decided to get the book (despite it being the movie cover which makes me really mad) but I also could not put down Every Day by David Levithan which I absolutely loved when I read it back in high school. Luckily for me my mom let me get both (and all three of us got two items each anyway) but I will be reading Never for the beach and adding EveryDay to my neverending list of books to read soon.

After we finished up at Barnes and Noble, with an iced coffee in hand (note my name is spelled correctly and legibly) we headed right over to Pier 1 Imports just to look around. I was hoping to find some clear glass coffee mugs or a mug to get for my apartment. Lo and behold, I end up getting a chalkboard painted coffee mug for myself out at school. My roommate told me I don’t need more mugs but what can I say… I’m honestly addicted to buying mugs, but that’s a different story.
After leaving Pier 1 we stopped briefly at five below for myself, then we went home for us all to go to the bathroom and then my sister opened her present. All of which she absolutely loved and I’m so glad that she was happy with her gifts.

Next on her list of things to do was go to Desserts Ect. for birthday dessert instead of getting an entire birthday cake. The bakery is so charming and the baked goods are seriously incredible, I was really excited to be there. Plus this evening light on the staircase by where we sat was just really beautiful to me.
We saw Finding Dory after the bakery visit and luckily for us we ran into our niece and nephews in the parking lot of the movie theater which made both my sisters day and mine as well. Seeing them at all brings me so much happiness and even though we just saw them Saturday night, it was thrilling to see them again to day.
Once we got home from the movie we began to put things away from the day, then my sister blew out candles. Yes, that is a pancake with candles in it, since we didn’t have a birthday cake. After that we all said goodnight and went off to our rooms. It was a perfect day with a perfect end to the day. Another successful birthday!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
